RRK BOKSING : Fundamental of FMA Boxing for Self Protection
Boxing is definitely a good sport and good for self-defence. That's because of its variety of defensive and attacking maneuvers, effective footwork and distance control. An untrained person has no chance when fighting against an experienced boxer. You do not have to become a boxing expert or master to protect yourself. Boxing added with Filipino Martial Arts flavor of Dirty Tricks and straight forward approach will complement your Boxing skills and make more equipped. Filipino boxing is like taking away all the rules in Boxing. In RRK Boksing (Boxing) or Suntukan is one of the sub system and is a great foundation for self defense.
What to learn:
- Combative Concept (Concept Driven drills) and Principles
- Stance, Footwork and Mobility
- Offense/Strikes
- Defenses
- Default Responses
- Principles and Tactics against Common Attack
- a lot of Drills for experience and Skills
- and more to come.
What you won't gonna learn:
- Flashy and Flowery movements (I wanted simple and direct).
- Good Looking Combination that are not easy to use.
Simple but not easy. You need to train and pressure test a lot. Too Basic but I know it's functional proven by a lot of my student who work at Security, Watchmen, Driver, law Enforcement and more.
I don't promise to teach you good looking course or make you a good Ring or Combat Sports Boxer (That's a good Sport and I admire them and actually encourage my student to train and be better at it) but if you train it well, I know it will work. This course will teach you the Fundamental (basic) Boxing in relation to FMA principles.
About the Instructors:
Guro Isagani Abon
Guro Gani began his training at the Age of 7 with Filipino Street Style and Western Boxing from his Dad as well as traditional Japanese and Korean Martial Arts. Due to his Dad reputation as Boxer and Gang member, His Family always changing location and lives in different tough places in metro manila, Tondo, Malabon, and Navotas to name a few. And for their safety all of them including his Brother and Sister were trained to fight for self-protection. Training are not meant for the ring but design for the mean street of Manila. Being the Youngest, he is the one who was always been beaten and bullied at school and on the street and sometimes by his older brother and some friends in sparring who also know how to box. Because of this he seek for new Instructor who can teach him new move. After he saw a series of Kung Fu and Karate movies he knows this is the one he is looking for to gain advantage against Boxer. He join a Local Taekwondo and Karate Club and was successful from competition but he feels something is missing specially, his fear about weapon attack (particularly Knife Attack) still hasn’t disappeared or been answered.
Then on 1993 He went to Luneta to train outdoor with his best buddy and then he met and trained with different Filipino martial arts Master and practitioner from Yaw Yan, Silat, Kuntaw, Arnis, Kali, Eskrima. But three low profile Master caught his eyes and attention due to their realistic approach and principles after training with other Instructors around Luneta. They are Grand Master Federico (Tatay Fred) Fernandez of Arnis Defense Silat which is the first Instructor he trained with among the three, Grandmaster Alejandro (Tatay Andy) Abrian of Orabes Heneral Escrima and Grand Master Henry Espera of Rapido Realismo Kali which where he dedicated his training and draw his principles of FMA training. He was fortunate to meet this three FMA Guro along with his Dads Pamuok Boksing. The Aggressive Reactionary, Offensive Mind set (and principles) and Skill set. As well as the Flowing and adapting principles FMA, he felt Complete and with unlimited option of FMA Skills.
Guro Gani, is an Avid Martial Arts book and Magazine reader. To upgrade his knowledge. He open his mind to other arts and constantly cross train with other group and system. Researching new principles, Concepts, Techniques and Training Methods. 1994, the year that changes his principles from combat sports to combative training. After he saw and read the Magazine Articles of Coach Tony Blauer of Chu Fen Do/Blauer Tactical Systems. He fell in love with the Concept of reality based concepts, Research, and Scenario Based Training. From that time onward, he has trained in a variety of Martial methods both Eastern and Western including Chinese, Thai and Filipino, Western boxing, Wrestling, grappling and Close Quarter Combative.

Michael Janich,
And a lot more!!
Due to his vast training influences and experience, Guro Gani are known as a trainer who thinks outside the box and was responsible for several forward thinking programs within Rapido Realismo Kali. Through experience and research Guro Gani saw a massive void between what was being taught in the way of hand to hand combative, impact weapons, edged weapons and what he knew to be the realities of interpersonal combat. He teach the Filipino concepts of being pre-emptive, aggressive, and fast training for impact, and learning all you can about the adrenal response. He knows that all this has been teached, showed, explained and written about before by well experience and maybe better people than him especially the guy mention above which we admire. We have merely reached similar conclusions from similar experiences and knowledge gain from studying different concept/system and hopefully teach a lot of people who need to protect themselves and learn the Filipino Martial/Fighting Arts.
